Summer Music Study Scholarships
- Applicant must be a resident of Dorchester 2 School District (homeschool, public or private school eligible), currently in grades 8 – 12.
- Scholarship award is based on audition.
- Applicant must perform two contrasting musical works of his/her choice and supply his/her own accompanist. Please don’t take repeats. Applicant must bring three copies of the scores for the judges. One of the 3 MUST be an original published score. No arrangements or transcriptions will be allowed. - The selections must be memorized.
- The maximum audition time is 15 minutes.
- Parents and teachers will NOT be allowed in the audition room. Exception: accompanist.
- Scholarship winners MUST perform for the Summerville Music Club. If you do not perform, the scholarship will not be awarded. This concert date is TBD.
- 2019 SMC scholarship winners are not eligible.
- Applicants will be notified of results within one week following audition.
- Scholarships must be used during the summer of 2020. All scholarship moneys will be sent directly to the summer camp or music teacher.
